Challenge
Quick Letters are not working or failing midway through the merge process.
Cause
Any number of items can cause problems with Quick Letter or Letter Merge.
Solution
Solution 1:
1. Open File Explorer and clean out directory below.
C:\Users\<USERPROFILE>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles
2. Attempt to run Quick Letters again.
Solution 2:
1. Verify Office 2013 is opening uninterrupted.
2. Make sure all Office applications are closed out and reopen Microsoft Word on its own.
a. If prompting for licenses, add license to Office install.
b. If error is popping up, open office in safe mode.
i. Open Run and type word.exe /safe
ii. Open Word again and see if errors pop up.
Solution 3:
1. Verify user is not double clicking on Quick Letter in the Quick Letter module. This is prompting Dentrix to Edit the document.
Solution 4:
1. Verify there are no open word documents. If there are any, please close them out.
2. If there are no word documents open, open a clean instance of Word.
