Challenge
You receive an error when opening MiPACS. The message reads "Not able to retrieve from server DICOM Server (MI_*****_GW/SVR). Could not listen to port 1000 becuase it is already in use.

Cause
This error is caused by multiple users leaving MiPACS open on the same computer.
Example: User A is working in Op 10, forgets to close MiPACS, and heads home for the day. User B comes in the following day, also sharing Op 10, tries to open MiPACS, gets error 1000.
Solution
A simple restart will fix this issue.

Please remember to close out all applications, and log off before leaving for the day.
